The seventh batch of national specialized, high-end, and innovation-driven "little giants" that provide distinctive products or services was recently announced. Ten enterprises based in Huai'an City were included on the list. So far, Huai'an City has cultivated a total of such national "little giants," demonstrating surging innovation momentum.
These "little giants" can be called leading players among specialized, high-end, and innovation-driven enterprises that offer distinctive products or services. They typically focus on niche markets, possess strong innovation capabilities, a high market share, and key core technologies, which enable them to ensure excellent quality and efficiency. The 10 enterprises selected this time are primarily concentrated in strategic emerging industries, including electronic information, auto parts, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and biomedicine. Their coverage is highly consistent with China's national strategic orientation. These 10 enterprises have invested more than 5% of their revenues in R&D, built multi-level R&D platforms and provincial innovation carriers, accumulated over 100 invention patents, and formed many core technological achievements with independent intellectual property rights and industry influence, fully demonstrating the solid foundation and full vitality of Huai'an SMEs' innovation drive.
In recent years, Huai'an City has made continuous efforts in cultivating specialized, high-end, and innovation-driven enterprises. It adheres to a stratified gradient support and a targeted, classified cultivation approach, accurately addressing the pain points of enterprise development by conducting specialized inspections for these enterprises. Currently, 363 provincial specialized, high-end, and innovation-driven small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and 1,550 innovative SMEs have been cultivated in this city, forming a substantial reserve of "little giant" enterprises.
