To further curb the illegal trade of wild birds and effectively safeguard regional ecological balance and public health and safety, the Huai'an Municipal Market Supervision Administration, together with the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, the Municipal Bird Protection Association, and other relevant organizations, recently carried out a joint citywide campaign focusing on special law enforcement and publicity efforts concerning the protection of wild birds and other wildlife within the market regulation sector.
The city adopts a coordinated and collaborative approach to build an integrated law enforcement framework. Multiple departments jointly establish mechanisms for information sharing, coordinated enforcement, and clue transfer, with clearly defined responsibilities and enforcement priorities. This initiative promotes the formation of a comprehensive regulatory network that integrates "market supervision + business regulation + social oversight," thereby enhancing overall enforcement synergy and response efficiency.
The city enforces strict investigation and regulation measures to conduct comprehensive on-site inspections. A joint inspection team focuses on key areas such as Qingjiangpu District and Huaiyin District, carrying out thorough, grid-based inspections of poultry stalls in farmers' markets, slaughtering areas, and cold storage facilities. The inspections specifically target any illegal activities involving the sale or storage of wild birds. Any potential hazards identified on-site are immediately ordered to be rectified, with firm measures taken to curb the emergence of illegal trading practices.
The city strengthens public awareness and encourages broad social participation. During the enforcement process, inspection personnel simultaneously carry out legal awareness campaigns, educating market organizers, vendors, and consumers on laws and regulations related to wildlife protection. They also post on-site reminders titled "Notice on Prohibiting the Illegal Trade of Birds and Other Wild Animals", urging market organizers to strengthen management, clarify their primary responsibilities, and actively guide the public to embrace the concept of ecological civilization that values nature and protects wildlife. These efforts aim to foster a governance environment featuring widespread participation and collective protection.
