On September 28th, the 2025 Opening Ceremony themed "Welcome to Huai'an to Chase Your Future Dreams" was successfully held. Shi Zhijun, Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, attended and delivered a speech. Gu Kun, Mayor of Huai'an, participated in the event and presented awards to representatives of outstanding teams in innovation and entrepreneurship. Municipal leaders Hu Yi, He Baoxiang, Feng Yunshan, Wang Sujun, along with representatives from provincial universities based in Huai'an, municipal colleges, and 3,300 new students, participated in the event.

Shi Zhijun, on behalf of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee and the Huai'an Municipal People's Government, and all citizens of Huai'an, extended the warmest welcome to the freshmen coming from across the globe. Hu Yi, member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, together with He Baoxiang, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Huai'an Municipal People's Congress and Secretary of Jinhu County CPC Committee, presented awards to representatives of outstanding teams in vocational skills. Deputy Mayor Feng Yunshan and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Huai'an Municipal Committee Wang Sujun presented awards to outstanding student representatives. Leaders of universities stationed in Huai'an presented the "Xiangyu Scholarship" to outstanding freshman representatives. Chang Lv, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Huaiyin Institute of Technology, extended a welcome speech on behalf of universities and colleges in Huai'an.

This year marks the fifth year Huai'an City has held a collective opening ceremony to welcome students. A total of 40,026 new students from 10 countries around the world came to study in Huai'an.
