Huai'an City Leader Meets with Consul General Prinat Apirat of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai and Her Delegation

On September 8, Shi Zhijun, Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, met with Prinat Apirat, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai, and her delegation to exchange views on deepening cooperation in trade, culture, and other fields, reaching a broad consensus.

Shi Zhijun extended a warm welcome to Prinat Apirat and her delegation for their visit to Huai'an. He stated that Huai'an boasts four renowned titles: the Hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai, the Capital of Canals in China, the City of Gastronomy, and a National Historical and Cultural City. It is also a city with a strong pro-business tradition. In April of this year, he and his colleagues conducted trade and economic exchanges in Thailand, visiting well-known enterprises such as the CP Group and Saha Group, promoting further cooperation between the two sides in the full agricultural industry chain, biopharmaceutical health, and freight logistics. Huai'an has prominent advantages in the food industry, and its culinary culture is famous both domestically and internationally. There is broad potential for cooperation in the food industry, deep processing of agricultural products, and ecological agriculture projects, as well as the pharmaceutical industry and cultural tourism, and he looks forward to achieving more and better results through collaboration.

Prinat Apirat stated that during this visit to Huai'an, she conducted on-site inspections of the city's historical and cultural heritage as well as its food industry, leaving her deeply impressed by Huai'an's rich history and development achievements. She noted that there is broad potential for cooperation between Thailand and Huai'an in the food industry and culinary culture, and that fruitful results have already been achieved.
