Huai'an Lianshui International Airport Achieved Double-digit Growth in Passenger and Cargo Throughput
time:2025-08-18

From January to July, Huai'an Lianshui International Airport (Huai'an Airport) handled a cumulative passenger throughput of 1.228 million, up 12.4% year-on-year, and a cargo and mail throughput of 5,109.5 tons, up 72.6% year-on-year. Both indicators recorded double-digit growth.

The passenger transport network has been continually optimized. Up to now, Huai'an Airport has cooperated with 12 airlines to operate 31 routes to 32 cities. By enhancing cooperation with China Southern Airlines, the airport has introduced an A320 aircraft to provide capacity for early departures on the Huai'an-Guangzhou route. Additionally, the Shenzhen flight schedule has been refined, significantly improving the passenger load factor.

The recovery of freight capacity has accelerated. New postal mail air transportation services have been initiated in Huai'an and Suqian. The construction of cross-border e-commerce supervision sites has been completed, restoring international freight support capabilities. In collaboration with Shandong Airlines, the innovative "domestic continuation mixed-loading model" was implemented, leading to the launch of the Huai'an-Osaka international all-cargo flight route on March 1, alongside the deployment of the city's only cross-border e-commerce supervision site. By the end of June, this air route had directly driven a growth of 11 percentage points in the city's cross-border e-commerce sector.

Innovative breakthroughs in industrial integration have been made. Huai'an has proactively expanded the boundaries of the "aviation +" concept and explored building a connected ecosystem for cultural and tourism resources. Collaborations with organizations such as Huai'an Cultural Tourism Group, Economic Development and Investment Group, and Chuyun Group were initiated to establish a bilateral platform connecting airlines and travel enterprises. This initiative promotes integration between the aviation supply chain's stakeholders, introduces travel routes like "Travel with Flights" and "Explore Huai'an with Events," and offers premium packages combining "air travel, accommodation, and attractions." These efforts mark significant progress in the integration of aviation and cultural tourism.
