Huai'an Develops a New Ecosystem for Smart Healthcare
time:2025-08-08

In recent years, Huai'an has prioritized patient needs and leveraged the development of a public health service platform to continuously enhance its medical service model, aiming to establish a convenient and efficient new ecosystem for smart healthcare. By embracing the principle of "enhanced data mobility, greater convenience for patients", the city has optimized the allocation of medical resources, significantly improved service efficiency, reduced healthcare costs, and enhanced the overall medical experience.

Previously, patients seeking treatment for the same condition at different hospitals often had to undergo redundant examinations. The lack of mutual recognition of examination results has not only wasted medical resources and reduced treatment efficiency but has also placed an additional burden on patients, consuming their time and energy.

To comply with the directive from higher authorities to standardize medical practices and minimize redundant examinations, the Huai'an Municipal Health Commission has been coordinating efforts since 2023 to develop a public health service platform and its "digital base"—a universal health information platform.

In 2024, the universal health information platform was officially launched. Public medical and health institutions across the city systematically upgraded their internal information systems and data standards to align with the latest clinical examination sharing standards and business requirements. This initiative resulted in the establishment of a health information network that is "seamlessly connected both vertically and horizontally", enabling the full and daily scheduled collection of historical medical data from 143 public medical institutions throughout the city, along with standardized data management. This advancement has broken down information silos among hospitals, facilitating the sharing of medical imaging and examination results, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of limited healthcare resources.
