Huai'an City is focused on creating a "Green High Ground and Hub City", establishing green public platforms that integrate gardens into society and bring beautiful scenery into urban life, continuously enhancing the happiness and sense of gain for its citizens.
Parks and green spaces "paint the four seasons with splendor". Huai'an City actively promotes free access to urban parks and green spaces, themed around seasonal flower viewing, ecological science popularization, folk culture, and sports activities. The city deeply explores the unique resources of each park while incorporating diverse cultural elements such as opera, fitness, and literature. Each year, over 60 popular activities are held, including flower festivals, fruit-picking events, rose cultural exhibitions, youth matchmaking events, and science summer camps, creating a recognizable park brand that attracts citizens and tourists alike.
Pocket parks turn modest investments into urban gems. Upholding the construction philosophy of "people-centered, quality enhancement, and balanced layout", Huai'an City has built over 100 urban "green living rooms", benefiting more than 600,000 people in surrounding areas. This has resulted in a new ecological landscape model for the central city characterized by "interconnected urban spaces, grouped neighborhoods, and ecological links".
Roadside landscapes burst into bloom all along the way. The city has initiated high-quality greening and maintenance demonstration projects along urban park roads. In the main urban area, three parks—Bochi Hill Park, Ancient Yellow River Ecological Folk Custom Park, and Qingyan Garden—along with four roads—Xiangyu Avenue, Shenzhen Road, Huaihai Road, and Meigao Road—are undergoing urban park road renovations, facility maintenance, and cultural enhancement. This initiative aims to achieve coordinated development of ecological landscaping, scenery, recreation, and educational functions in urban parks.
