time:2025-06-06

To further enhance awareness and coverage of social assistance policies and effectively safeguard the basic rights of disadvantaged groups, the Huai'an Civil Affairs Bureau and other departments recently held a themed promotional activity titled "Warm Assistance, Brighten Hope". This initiative involved face-to-face explanations of social assistance policies, listening to and addressing the needs of those in difficulty.

This activity is part of the city's "Social Assistance Promotion Month" for this year. At the event, various units set up consultation booths to provide one-on-one policy advisory services to residents. Staff addressed common concerns regarding assistance policies, such as minimum living allowances, support for individuals in extreme difficulty, and temporary assistance, explaining the policies using real case examples and detailing application conditions and processes. For personalized issues raised by residents, staff provided individual analysis and professional recommendations.

In recent years, the Civil Affairs Bureau has focused on the urgent needs of disadvantaged groups, solidly advancing social assistance work to continually enhance feelings of gain, happiness, and security among those in need. As of the first quarter of this year, Huai'an City has provided support to 36,400 households (67,400 individuals) receiving minimum living allowances, 21,400 individuals in extreme difficulty, 7,200 households (22,100 individuals) from families on the edge of minimum living standards, and 973 households (3,274 individuals) facing expenditure-related difficulties. Temporary assistance has been provided to 6,674 individuals, with a total of RMB 105 million distributed in urban and rural minimum living allowances, RMB 65.55 million in support for individuals in extreme difficulty, and RMB 6.05 million in temporary assistance.
