Huai'an City Strengthens Fishing Ban Enforcement and Steadfastly Promotes a Ten-Year Fishing Ban
time:2025-05-16

Since the beginning of this year, Huai'an City has continuously enhanced clue analysis and law enforcement efforts, tightening the fishing ban.

The first step is to analyze clues and enforce the law accurately. A 24-hour reporting hotline for fishing ban violations has been established, facilitating the collection of clues. By the end of April, over 40 effective clues provided by towns and the public had been processed. Focusing on illegal fishing activities in the Erhe River, Grand Canal, and Ancient Yellow River waters, authorities pinpointed six individuals through precise clue analysis, collaborated with local towns and villages to conduct admonitions, and promoted legal awareness.

Second, regular inspections serve as a deterrent to law enforcement. A "blind inspection" mechanism has been implemented, conducting random patrols during sensitive periods such as nighttime and holidays to strengthen enforcement efforts. By the end of April, 12 cases of electric fishing and 17 cases of illegal fishing had been investigated, maintaining a strong deterrent against illegal practices.

The third aspect is joint operations and coordinated law enforcement. Cross-regional collaborative law enforcement has been strengthened to uphold the political responsibility for waterway ecological protection. Since the beginning of this year, two surprise inspections have been carried out in conjunction with Mingguang City, Anhui Province on the co-managed waters of the Huaihe River mainstream, law enforcement and supervision during the fishing ban period have been strengthened, and more than 20 sets of illegal fishing nets have been cleared.
