During the May Day holiday, the transportation system of Huai'an City worked tirelessly to ensure smooth travel for citizens and tourists. The city's transportation remained stable and orderly, with a total of 398,900 passengers transported, representing a 2.32% year-on-year increase.
On the railway front, Huai'an's rail network operated 1,020 trains, an increase of 89 trains compared to the previous year. The total number of passengers reached 392,400, a 12.5% growth. Specifically, outbound passengers totaled 200,300, up 15.35% year-on-year, while inbound passengers were 192,100, a 9.66% year-on-year increase. In aviation, the city saw 293 flight movements, with 32,400 passengers, a 17.5% year-on-year increase, including 18,300 departing passengers and 14,100 arriving passengers. In terms of road passenger transport, a total of 5,200 intercity passenger transport vehicles were put into operation, 10,000 trips were operated, and a total of 180,300 passengers were transported. In urban transportation, a total of 9,400 buses were put into operation, serving 1,543,900 passengers, a 15.2% increase. Notably, Huai'an's urban bus system operated over 1,000 buses daily, safely carrying approximately 1.3 million passengers, marking a 13.8% year-on-year increase, with a peak daily ridership of over 280,000. The city's tram system ran 1,500 trips, covering nearly 30,000 kilometers and serving 238,300 passengers, with a daily average of 48,000 passengers—a 7.92% year-on-year increase. The system maintained a 100% on-time performance and schedule adherence. Taxi services deployed 11,100 vehicles, serving 442,400 passengers.
