Huai'an City Experiences Steady Growth in Resident Income and Stable Employment Market

In Q1 2025, Huai'an City's residents saw their per capita disposable income reach RMB 1,3741, an increase of 5.8% from the previous year. Specifically, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was RMB 15,627, a rise of 5.2%, and that of rural residents was RMB 10,917, an increase of 6.5%. The growth rate in rural areas was 1.3 percentage points higher than that in urban areas. The income ratio of urban and rural residents has dropped from 1.45:1 in the same period last year to 1.43:1 (taking rural residents' income as 1). The income gap between urban and rural residents has further narrowed.

The city's newly registered market entities totaled 17,100, including 6,100 newly registered enterprises and 10,900 individual businesses. The city saw an increase of 14,500 new employments in urban areas, 9,800 unemployed people in urban areas were re-employed, 1,188 people were supported to start their own businesses successfully, and 15,100 people received subsidized vocational skills training.
