In the first quarter, Huai'an City achieved a port cargo throughput of 20.1305 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.29%; the container throughput reached 127,900 TEUs, up 9.12% year-on-year. Notably, the multimodal transport volume of containers was 35,600 TEUs, a remarkable increase of 97.21%, while the volume of foreign trade containers reached 39,800 TEUs, up 60.60%, demonstrating strong growth momentum.

Infrastructure upgrades and enhancements. This year, Huai'an Port has focused on resource integration, optimizing the functional division of operation areas, and enhancing the level of specialized and intensive operations. Key projects, including the third phase of Huai'an Port, Huangma Port, and the hazardous materials terminal in the industrial park, are being accelerated to improve the port's collection and distribution system and further enhance cargo throughput capacity.

Deepening open cooperation. The integrated operation of Huai'an Port and Huaiyin East Port officially commenced. On March 5, the first batch of goods from Zenith Steel was successfully exported to Shanghai via Huaiyin East Port; on March 20, the "Huaifeng Express" daily service successfully launched its inaugural route from Fengyang Port in Anhui, marking an expanded service area for Huai'an Port. Currently, Huai'an City operates 12 stable road-rail-water intermodal transport routes and has developed 4 provincial-level high-quality intermodal routes, with the multimodal transport network continuously improving.

Targeted policy services. A seminar on the development of waterway container transport was organized to discuss the water transport industry, optimize enterprise services, further leverage Huai'an's inland shipping advantages, and promote local economic and shipping industry development. Efforts are being made to cultivate quality market players, with companies like Jianghuaitong Container Shipping Co., Ltd. and Runxing Container Transportation Co., Ltd. applying to be designated as key enterprises for provincial transportation development by 2025. The smart port city project at Huangma Port and the automated terminal at Huai'an Port Phase III are being accelerated.
