In the first quarter, Huai'an's agricultural and rural economy showed a steady growth trend.
The city's 4.78 million mu of wheat in the field is growing well, with Class I and II seedlings accounting for more than 90%. The area of vegetables in the field, livestock and poultry inventory, and aquaculture area all increased by about 5% compared with the same period last year. The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery is expected to reach RMB 9.52 billion in the first quarter, marking a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. The city has reserved more than 140,000 tons of agricultural materials such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, with stable prices and sufficient supply; more than 16,000 sets of agricultural machinery have been repaired and maintained, making full preparations for summer grain production and summer harvest and planting.
The city has applied for 23 newly-commenced major agricultural projects with a total planned investment of RMB 6.1 billion, including 18 agricultural product processing projects; 21 newly completed projects have been applied for, including 2 projects with a total investment of more than RMB 1 billion, with a total investment of RMB 5.35 billion. Huai'an City focuses on Beijing, the Yangtze River Delta, the Fujian Delta, and the Chengdu-Chongqing region, and uses local industrial conference platforms to carry out green food industry investment promotion around leading industries and leading enterprises. The city will fully serve leading agricultural enterprises, attract investment through business, formulate "one-to-one" investment promotion plans based on the development needs of enterprises, supplement, extend and strengthen the industrial chain, and promote enterprise agglomeration.
Huai'an City continues to carry out anti-counterfeiting actions on agricultural materials, rectify the seed, pesticide and fertilizer markets, and crack down on illegal acts that harm farmers and agricultural product quality. The city will further carry out special rectification actions against illegal fishing in Hongze Lake and inland waters to protect the ecology of the waters. It will strengthen technical guidance and urge production entities to use agricultural inputs scientifically. Efforts will be made to further optimize the agricultural product quality and safety risk monitoring network, carry out batch sampling testing according to no less than 0.2% of the social population, and ensure that the overall qualified rate remains stable at more than 98%.
