time:2025-03-21

At present, Huai'an's agricultural production is showing a vibrant scene. The grain and oil planting area remains stable, the crop seedling situation continues to improve, the vegetable supply is sufficient, and the spring ploughing preparation work is progressing steadily. Data shows that the city's 4.8 million mu of summer grain is growing steadily, of which 4.78 million mu has sufficient and strong wheat seedlings, with Class I and II seedlings accounting for 90.1%. For 206,000 mu of rapeseed fields, Class I and II seedlings account for 85.9%. As the temperature rises, Class III seedlings are accelerating their transformation to Class II seedlings. There are 347,000 mu of vegetables in the field, mainly planting bulk vegetables such as peppers and cabbage. The total output in the first quarter is expected to be 1.013 million tons, ensuring sufficient market supply.

Huai'an City actively responded to the spirit of the central and provincial video conference on spring field management and spring ploughing preparations, carefully planned and effectively shouldered the responsibility for food security. On March 11, the goal of grain, soybean and oil production in 2025 was issued, requiring all local departments to decompose tasks into towns, villages and specific crops to tap the potential for increasing yield. In order to increase yield per unit, Huai'an City has strengthened the support for technology promotion, entity cultivation and farmland construction, implemented a new round of action to improve grain production capacity, and accelerated the construction of 2 ministerial-level wheat counties, 1 ministerial-level rice county and more than 50 high-yielding grain and oil areas. At the same time, new agricultural planting technologies such as soil testing and formulated fertilization, as well as green prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, are actively introduced to improve the application of science and technology in agricultural production. In order to ensure the sufficient supply of spring ploughing materials, the Huai'an Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has strengthened the reserve and maintenance of agricultural materials and machinery. According to statistics, the city reserves 26.22 million kilograms of seeds, 114,000 tons of chemical fertilizer and about 542.3 tons of pesticides. It plans to invest more than 32,000 sets of agricultural machinery.
