In 2024, the construction industry of Huai'an City focused on national strategies, optimized market tactics, and unswervingly "went global" for development. As a result, its output value reached RMB 100.1 billion in non-local markets, accounting for 50% of the construction industry's total output value.

First, the scale continued to leap forward. Huai'an City encourages flagship players to lead development and has achieved steady growth in the number of high-level markets. Compared with 2023, there were three new markets worth RMB 1 billion or more, bringing the total to 29. A gradient market pattern took shape with five 5-billion-yuan markets, three 4-billion-yuan markets, three 3-billion-yuan markets, six 2-billion-yuan markets, and 12 1-billion yuan markets.

Second, the regional layout was expanded in depth. The industry's non-local markets covered over 100 key cities in 30 provinces nationwide. It even penetrated key areas such as the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region. Moreover, Huai'an-based enterprises participated in building the Pudong International Airport T3 Terminal and the West Bund Convention and Exhibition Center, achieving breakthroughs in technology output and brand value increases.

Third, the development quality and efficiency were significantly enhanced. In non-local markets, Huai'an's construction industry achieved continual high-quality development, driving the city's comprehensive strength in the construction industry to rank 34th among the top 100 cities in China. Notably, the proportion of technology-intensive projects continued to increase. The application of intelligent construction technology and the promotion of engineering general contracting models have enabled Huai'an enterprises to establish differentiated competitive advantages in decoration and renovation of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor and the construction of super-large transportation hubs.

In addition, Huai'an's construction industry has also achieved remarkable results in overseas market development. In 2024, Huai'an's construction enterprises increased their efforts to expand in overseas markets with various offerings such as general contracting of projects, general construction contracting, design consulting, material supply, and special contracting of central state-owned enterprise projects. They undertook 12 engineering projects in 10 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with a total contract amount of about RMB 2.07 billion.
