Since the beginning of this year, the Huai'an Port and Shipping Department has concentrated on the goal of establishing a national inland river shipping center. It has been working diligently to overcome challenges and enhance the quality and efficiency of waterway transport for economic development. In January, the port's cargo throughput was 6.9466 million tons, an increase of 15.45% compared to the previous year. The container throughput was 41,500 TEUs, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.83%.
Following the Spring Festival holiday, the Huai'an Port Construction Project experienced a surge in activity as work resumed. The construction site was bustling, with efforts in full swing to ensure a strong start to the new year. As of February 10, Phase III of the Huai'an Port, the Huangma Operation Area, and the Jinhu Port Logistics Park Wharf have smoothly resumed work and production. The Industrial Park Hazardous Chemicals Wharf, along with the Hongze New Port Industrial Park Wharf, is actively preparing to resume work and production, with a full restart planned before February 19. Regarding new projects, the Fanji Operation Area has expedited the preliminary phases. Currently, the project filing has been completed, and the preparation of the preliminary design report is progressing steadily. The environmental impact assessment has been approved, and tasks related to flood assessment, land, and other pertinent areas are also well underway.
