Huai'an Achieves a Regional GDP of RMB 541.302 Billion in 2024

According to the unified calculation results of the regional GDP, Huai'an City achieved a regional GDP of RMB 541.302 billion in 2024, marking an increase of 7.1% over the previous year calculated at constant prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was RMB 48.131 billion, with an increase of 4.6%; that of the secondary industry was RMB 210.103 billion, with an increase of 7.6%; and that of the tertiary industry was RMB 283.068 billion, with an increase of 7.2%.

Industrial production grew rapidly. The annual added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size, total industrial invoice sales and industrial electricity consumption increased by 9.4%, 11.0% and 21.3% respectively over the previous year. By industry, the added value of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing, and wine, beverage and refined tea manufacturing increased by 38.6%, 25.0% and 17.1% respectively, driving the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city to increase by 2.1 percentage points, 1.6 percentage points and 1.3 percentage points respectively.

Effective investment continued to expand. The annual investment in fixed assets above designated size increased by 13.3% over the previous year. Among them, industrial investment increased by 25.3%, 12.0 percentage points faster than the growth rate of investment above designated size, accounting for 68.6% of the total investment. In terms of capital sources, private investment increased by 18.2%, accounting for 84.1% of the total investment, up 3.5 percentage points from the previous year.

The service industry showed good growth. The annual added value of the service industry increased by 7.2% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of wholesale and retail trade, accommodation and catering industry, and other service industries increased by 10.9%, 10.7% and 9.1% respectively. The volume of highway freight transport was 55 million tons and the turnover was 17.546 billion ton-kilometers, up 1.8% and 2.2% respectively. The container throughput of inland river ports was 572,100 TEUs, up 11.6%. The railway passenger volume was 17.489 million person-times, up 12.4%, and the railway freight volume was 2.516 million tons, up 16.7%.
