time:2025-01-15

In 2024, Huai'an City achieved a total port cargo throughput of 81.3517 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.46%. The inland container throughput reached 572,100 TEUs, up 11.57% year on year, solidifying Huai'an's position as the top inland port in the province and demonstrating a vibrant waterway economy.

Strategic cooperation among ports was deepened. Huai'an collaborated with the international shipping company Maersk to launch the country's first inland CCA service, achieving organic connectivity between inland branch lines and ocean mainlines. The city also strengthened its cooperation with the Shanghai Port ICT project, completing 37,100 TEUs in annual foreign trade "land-to-water" business, representing a year-on-year growth of 152.27%. The foreign trade CCA customs clearance volume at Huai'an Port reached 15,900 TEUs, up 71.40% year on year.

Multimodal transport was vigorously developed. A new shipping route from "Huai'an to Jiaxing" was launched, along with a newly established "Yancheng-Huai'an-Zhoukou" sea-river intermodal route for cargo conversion. Regular sea-rail intermodal trains from Huai'an to Shanghai and Ningbo were put into operation, successfully leveraging the Husutong Bridge over the Yangtze River to achieve a "double reduction" in transportation time and costs.

Characteristic port and shipping services were enhanced. Regular visits were conducted to enterprises such as Huaigang Special Steel and Zenith Steel. Through "land-to-water" and "cargo conversion" multimodal transport services, over 550 domestic and foreign trade enterprises were benefited, resulting in a reduction in logistics costs exceeding RMB 100 million. The port’s functions were expanded to include modern logistics, commercial services, and bulk commodity trading, promoting the development of modern service industries such as shipping trade and logistics. Efforts were also underway to attract advanced industries to set up near the port, building a port industry supply chain base with Huai'an characteristics and strong comprehensive service capabilities.
