In 2024, Huai'an City focused on innovating cultural and tourism experiences to energize consumer spending. A series of new formats and experiences drove significant activity and vitality in the city's cultural and tourism consumer market.
Focusing on the construction of a national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration city, Huai'an City continuously launched the "Explore Huai'an with Excitement" series of activities, distributing over RMB 10 million in various cultural and tourism consumption vouchers. Preliminary estimates indicate that from January to November last year, the city welcomed 47.747 million domestic and international visitors, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, and achieved total tourism revenue of RMB 54.75 billion, up 11.7% from the previous year.
Huai'an City concentrated on cultivating new consumer formats, focusing on themes such as nightlife, camping, food, music, and self-driving tours. The city deepened the integration and innovation of these formats to create new cultural and tourism consumption scenes. The municipal cultural and tourism department, in collaboration with Qingjiangpu District and Jinhu County, organized events like the "Spring Breeze and Fragrant Flowers in Qingjiangpu" 2024 Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season and the Nanjing Metropolitan Area Self-Driving Travel Development Conference & the Fourth Rural Tourism Carnival in Jinhu County. They also actively explored "tourism plus" initiatives, hosting events such as the "Beautiful Huai'an Music Carnival," the "Explore Huai'an with Excitement: Beautiful Lianshui" camping music festival, and the Xuyi Crayfish Festival.
