In recent years, Huai'an has focused on promoting the mechanization of characteristic agriculture, accelerating the application of characteristic agricultural machinery and equipment technology, and actively promoting advanced and applicable new technologies and equipment in the characteristic agricultural machinery. The total amount of agricultural machinery and equipment continues to grow, agricultural mechanization continues to advance, and mechanization empowers characteristic agriculture to "accelerate" progress in high-quality development.

To address issues such as the "lack of usable machinery and the difficulty in utilizing the machinery" in agricultural equipment, Huai'an insists on adapting machinery to local conditions and implementing modifications suitable for mechanization. The city conducts research on the mechanization of preliminary processing for local famous, special, and high-quality agricultural products by "Four Aspects" (by region, industry, variety, and stage). Currently, the "Four Aspects" research on the mechanization of preliminary processing of 35 famous, special, and high-quality agricultural products has been completed. For the large-scale facility agriculture that has taken shape and cannot be reconstructed, Huai'an has conducted targeted research and development according to local conditions. The city has promoted collaborative efforts among large-scale industrial entities, local production enterprises, and scientific research institutes. This has led to the successful development of the precision feeding mechanization equipment system for crab breeding, and the prototype development of efficient construction technology and supporting drainage system repair equipment for watermelon greenhouses, filling two domestic gaps in machinery.

In addition, Huai'an has accelerated the exploration of technology-driven and environment-friendly agricultural development paths and promoted the integrated development of intelligent and green technologies. The city focuses on the promotion of intelligent machinery in areas such as precision feeding for layer poultry farming, facility agricultural environment regulation and control, intelligent oxygenation for lobster breeding, water quality monitoring, baiting, and integrated meteorological stations.
