Since the beginning of this year, Huai'an City has been actively promoting the training of high-quality farmers to empower rural revitalization with a skilled talent pool.
The first is to promote classified training. Leveraging resources from agricultural colleges, the city has developed training courses tailored to the needs of various production and business entities. These courses include technology dissemination, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurship & innovation training. This year, 13,000 high-quality professional farmers have been trained, accounting for approximately 65%, 26%, and 9% in each respective category.
The second is to extend the service chain. The city promotes integrated support for educational advancement, skill assessment, and professional title evaluation for trainees. As of the end of October, 1,659 individuals have received secondary and higher vocational education diplomas, 861 have been recognized as Rural Revitalization Technicians, and 21 have achieved the title of Senior Rural Revitalization Technician, the highest number in the province. Relevant industry associations are encouraged to provide farmers with services related to agricultural material procurement, financial insurance, processing, and sales.
The third is to strengthen support and guarantee. The city is enhancing the infrastructure for training programs. Since the beginning of the year, 22 new provincial and municipal field schools have been established, bringing the total to 95. Additionally, 3 new provincial demonstration bases for local talent inheritance have been selected, totaling 34, the highest in Northern Jiangsu. It has also launched activities to empower farmers in entrepreneurship and wealth creation through agricultural financing guarantee, assisting households in overcoming funding challenges for starting new ventures.
