In recent years, the Huai'an Disabled Persons' Federation has integrated job creation for people with disabilities into the city's overall human resources development strategy. Various departments, including the Huai'an Federation of Trade Unions and the Huai'an Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League, have pooled efforts to conduct thorough research and provide employment assistance for people who are disabled.
In the first three quarters of this year, Huai'an held 35 special job fairs, completing proportional employment certification audits for 641 employers and 2,273 disabled individuals, resulting in a net increase of 1,520 jobs for people with disabilities. The city has continued to enhance its business environment by simplifying two approval items for enterprises to employ people with disabilities, and assisting two companies in becoming national bases for proportional employment of people with disabilities. It also pioneered providing an "electronic map for people with disabilities" across the Jiangsu Province and distributed consumer coupons worth RMB 700,000 annually. Additionally, Huai'an utilizes the "Home for People with Disabilities" to provide manual labor projects to nearly 3,000 individuals. This initiative also collaborates with the "Beauty Workshop," which promotes the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage among people with disabilities, translating "fingertip skills" to a "fingertip economy," literally earning money through handicrafts. Moreover, since the beginning of this year, Huai'an has fostered employment through training, by offering 65 classes on blind massage, home-based customer service, and e-commerce live streaming to 1,426 participants.
