From January to August 2024, the online retail sales in Huai'an reached RMB 12.747 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. The retail sales volume was 526 million, and the unit value increased by 6.5%.

The top three online retail industries in terms of transaction scale were catering services, clothing, shoes and hats (knitwear and textile), and grain, oil and food. The top three enterprises in the online retail industry were Jiangsu Careseen E-Commerce Co., Ltd. with a year-on-year increase of 21.29%, Jiangsu Duopaiduo E-commerce Co., Ltd. with a year-on-year increase of 16.6%, and Yike Musical Instrument Co., Ltd. with a year-on-year increase of 29.42%. The number of active online retail stores in the city reached 34,454, with 55,366 employees, marking an increase of 283 on a year-on-year basis. The retail sales of rural e-commerce reached RMB 3.19 billion, up 3.57% year-on-year, accounting for 25.03%. The top three online retail industries of agricultural products in terms of transaction scale were meat, poultry and eggs, leisure food, and flowers and green plants, while the top three online retail areas of agricultural products in terms of transaction scale were Huai'an District, Qingjiangpu District and Lianshui County. The live-streaming online retail sales reached RMB 1.95 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 31.05%, among which those from clothing, shoes, hats, knitwear and textiles accounted for 30.91%, those from grain, oil and food 20.81%, and those from daily necessities 11.08%.
