Recently, Huai'an City has launched the "new farmers" training project, focusing on cultivating a group of "new farmers" for the new era who are not only passionate but also adept at technology, skilled in business operations and proficient in management practices. The goal is to build a high-quality, competent, influential team of "new farmers" who can support agriculture, develop rural areas, and lead farmers.
First, theoretical training and practical guidance will be provided with a focus on efficient cultivation techniques for rice, wheat, vegetables, livestock, crayfish, crabs, edible fungi, and technologies for soil improvement and efficient fertilization.
Second, targeted training on characteristic practical technologies will be arranged, such as red anchors for rural revitalization, innovation and entrepreneurship, and UAV application, to cultivate a group of "new farmers" skilled in short videos and live streaming.
Third, expert teams will be organized for on-site services, creating a "four ones" model of full industry chain guidance, that is, "one industry base, one expert workstation, one field classroom, and one promotion platform", to help "new farmers" optimize agricultural production methods and business models.
Fourth, the achievements of outstanding "new farmers" will be widely promoted and the selection of role models will be strengthened to enhance the demonstrative and leading role of "new farmers." Priority will be given to recommending excellent "new farmers" for various levels of recognition and awards to continuously boost their social recognition.
As of late July, more than 130 people have signed up for the "new farmers" training project in the city.
