On July 19, Huai'an Natural History Exhibition kicked off in Huai'an Museum. With the theme of "Natural History in Huai'an", the exhibition allows citizens to have a deep understanding of the evolution of the earth and the mysteries of nature through rich interesting experience activities.
The exhibition is rich in content, covering the origin of the universe, the evolution of life, diverse species in nature and the natural geographical environment of Huai'an. Thousands of natural treasures including Martian meteorites, lunar meteorites, various mineral gemstones and fossils of all categories are on display, as well as precious cultural relics used by scientists such as original natural history paintings and old maps in the 19th century.
The exhibition pays special attention to the health and stability of the ecosystem, showcasing the city's natural species resources such as common insects and fish and shellfish specimens in rivers and lakes. In addition, a natural history book corner and a microbiological laboratory are specially set up in the exhibition. The natural history book corner provides books related to natural science and natural history. By reading these books, citizens can further understand the mysteries of nature and feel the charm of science. In the microbiological laboratory, citizens can observe the microcosmic world in a drop of water through a microscope and experience the pleasure of "recognizing the whole through observation of the part".
In order to make citizens better understand and experience natural science, the exhibition also designs interactive experience activities, including butterfly specimen making, treasure appraisal, amber grinding, stone smashing tools, gold searching, fossil digging, fluorescence adventure, paleontology restoration and 3D printing. During the exhibition, there are many research activities, including "The First Lesson on Life Evolution" and "The First Lesson on Falling in Love with Insects".
The exhibition will last until September 15 and is open every Tuesday to Sunday.
