Huai'an Ensures Comprehensive Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products
time:2024-07-04

Prepared to deal with worst-case scenarios, Huai'an has safeguarded the quality and safety of agricultural products since the beginning of this year. Consequently, the pass rate of quality and safety monitoring has remained above 98% for major agricultural products. The achievement could be attributable to efforts in three aspects.

First, monitoring efforts have been intensified. The 2024 Risk Monitoring Plan of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety was issued to adjust and optimize monitoring projects. By the end of June, the city had completed 2,305 batches of risk monitoring for agricultural product quality and safety, distributed 10 risk warning reports, and initiated traceability query and risk management.

Second, the level of supervision has been enhanced. The city has implemented a "grid-based and precise supervision" model by incorporating large-scale entities into the supervision network and expanding the use of rapid detection technologies, which has strengthened grassroots supervision capabilities. By the end of June, more than 14,000 large-scale entities in Huai'an had been included in the provincial traceability platform of agricultural product quality, with 144,800 batches of agricultural products undergoing rapid quality testing at the grassroots level.

Third, the subject consciousness of business entities has been strengthened. Huai'an has guided business entities to obtain Compliance Commitment Certificates according to standardized procedures. The city has also advanced the construction of service stations and provided traceability services for agricultural product quality such as rapid testing of agricultural products and issuance of Compliance Commitment Certificates. By the end of June, 124 service stations had been built, and the market-entry inspection rate for Compliance Commitment Certificates of local vegetables in agricultural product wholesale markets had reached 100%.
