Huai'an has taken advantage of favorable weather conditions to advance the summer harvest. As of June 3, the city had 4.75 million mu of wheat fields ready for harvest, with 669,700 mu already harvested.
The first is to strengthen management and guidance. Technical personnel have been mobilized to carry out management guidance in the fields, actively guard against adverse weather and emergencies, and ensure the successful completion of summer grain harvest to the last kilometer. Since the summer harvest, more than 100 technicians have visited the fields for guidance. At present, the wheat crops are in excellent condition. There will be no phenomenon such as "rotten wheat fields".
The second is to strengthen the dispatching of agricultural machinery. Huai'an has increased its investment in agricultural machinery such as combine harvesters and dryers and unblocked operation channels to ensure "when one piece ripens, it is harvested immediately". By the end of May, a total of 21,000 combine harvesters and more than 3,100 dryers had been put into operation in Huai'an. The harvesting and drying capacity meets the production requirements, which effectively guarantees the warehousing of summer grains.
The third is to strengthen emergency responses. Huai'an has formulated emergency work plans and established and improved the emergency response network to ensure that the summer harvest proceeds on schedule, robustly and efficiently. By the end of May, Huai'an had set up 33 emergency service teams with over 300 key members and 250 units of various emergency agricultural machines and tools.
