Technology and Equipment Innovation Platform for the Whole Industry Chain of High-performance Fiber Composite Materials Settles in Huai'an

On the morning of May 7, a contract was signed between the Huai'an Municipal People's Government, Huai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, a team led by academician Sun Yize from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Huaiyin Institute of Technology, and Jiangsu Gaolu Composite Material Co., Ltd. for the joint establishment of a technology and equipment innovation platform for the whole industry chain of high-performance fiber composite materials. The signing ceremony was attended by Shi Zhijun, Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee; Sun Yize, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at Donghua University, and Ph.D. Supervisor; Jin Zhengyu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at Jiangnan University, and Ph.D. Supervisor; municipal government officials including Xu Zijia, Lin Xiaoming, and Zhang Chonglin; and Chang Lyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Huaiyin Institute of Technology.

High-performance fiber composite materials have the advantages of light weight, high strength, resistance to high and low temperatures, and corrosion resistance. The high-performance fiber-reinforced composite material industry is a strategic emerging industry, providing an important material foundation for the high-quality development of new industrialization. The technology and equipment innovation platform for the whole industry chain of high-performance fiber composite materials, as the target project of the contract, leverages the strength of the academician team, focuses on researching the three-dimensional braiding, three-dimensional weaving, and automatic patching of high-performance fiber-reinforced composite materials as well as composite material structure design and performance prediction, and aims to develop a batch of intelligent manufacturing technologies and equipment for carbon fiber composite materials and establish an intelligent equipment technology innovation system and an industry incubation and development system for the high-performance fiber composite material industry chain. The project will be carried out by the jointly built innovation research institute and the jointly established operating company and will include the construction of a high-end intelligent equipment factory in the carbon fiber composite material industry chain.
