Since this year, Huai'an has actively done a good job in stabilizing the production and supply of aquatic products to ensure sufficient and stable supply.

The first is to strengthen technical support to ensure stable supply. Huai'an has reinforced market monitoring and early warning, guided aquaculture entities to reasonably carry out production plans, and organized such entities and farmers to engage in high-quality farmer training. By the end of March, 102 aquaculture farmers had been trained. The total output of aquatic products in the city stood at 84,300 tons, up 1.97% year on year, and the market supply remained sufficient.

The second is to intensify product sampling inspection to guarantee quality and safety. Huai'an has strictly carried out sampling inspection of aquatic product quality and enhanced publicity on aquatic product quality and safety. By the end of March, 72 batches of routine monitoring and sampling on aquatic product quality and safety at the provincial level had been conducted and 25 batches of sampling and random inspection had been supervised, with more than 300 copies of papers for aquaculture drug utilization being distributed.

The third is to intensify disease monitoring to reduce aquaculture risks. Huai'an has actively implemented the prevention and control of aquatic animal diseases, scientifically arranged disease monitoring points, and timely scheduled forecast information. By the end of March, the city had set up 29 monitoring points for major aquatic animal diseases, including 16 for crucian carp and bream. One session of forecast information had been timely scheduled and reported.
