Total Tonnage of Lockage Ships in Huai'an Surpasses 19.09 Million Tons in Q1

In the first quarter, the port and shipping department of Huai'an proactively implemented a targeted initiative identified as "two assurances and one reinforcement". From January to March, the cumulative tonnage of ships passing through the department-managed Gaoliangjian, Yangzhuang, and Zhuma locks reached 19.0966 million tons, signifying a robust beginning to the first quarter. To ensure the safety and smoothness of waterways during the Spring Festival travel rush, work and production resumption, and preparations for spring farming and amid unique winter weather conditions, the three ship locks under the direct administration of Huai'an's port and shipping department have actively taken various measures to escort the secure passage of ships.

According to statistics, from January to March, the Gaoliangjian, Yangzhuang, and Zhuma locks under Huai'an's port and shipping department opened a cumulative total of 6,595 times, marking a 2.38% increase year on year; the gross tonnage of lockage ships reached 19.0966 million tons, with a year-on-year increase of 4.67%; the volume of lockage cargoes was 15.2114 million tons, reflecting a 2.99% rise from the previous year; the container ship throughput was 2.0082 million tons, up 82.37% year on year; there were 1,146 fleets of lockage ships, along with 21,336 instances of hanged motor ships.
