Since the beginning of this year, Huai'an's port and shipping department has thoroughly implemented the directives laid out by the municipal party committee and municipal government of starting construction at the onset of the year and ensuring solid progress as construction commences". With a keen focus on the annual investment of RMB 1.56 billion for port development, it has completed the construction of four wharves, including the Huangma Operation Area, Shanghe Operation Area, Zenith Steel Supporting Wharf, and Jushi Fiberglass Supporting Wharf, and accelerated the progression of key projects such as Phase III of Huai'an Port, Industrial Park Hazardous Chemicals Wharf, and Jinhu Port Logistics Park Wharf. During the first quarter, the city's port projects reached a cumulative construction investment of RMB 479 million, representing 30.7% of the planned investment for the year and surpassing the projected timeline progress by 5.7 percentage points.

The port and shipping department of Huai'an will steadfastly uphold the annual principal objectives for port construction and facilitate Zenith Steel and Jushi Fiberglass in the transition and acceptance of their supporting wharves. It is also committed to advancing the construction of pivotal projects such as Phase III of Huai'an Port, Huangma Operation Area, Shanghe Operation Area, Industrial Park Hazardous Chemicals Wharf, and Jinhu Port Logistics Park Wharf with unparalleled quality and efficiency. Additionally, it will vigorously pursue the mid-year goal of "double half" and expedite the building of a more distinctive "waterborne Huai'an".
