The 2023 Monkey King Amusement Park Huai’an Marathon and Grand Canal Marathon Series (Huai’an) began at 7:30 a.m. on April 9. The event attracted more than 15,000 runners from 31 provinces and cities and 14 countries of South Africa, India, Australia, Iran, etc.

The Huai’an Marathon is the highest certified A1-level event in China. Huai’an won the right to host the Grand Canal Marathon Series at the beginning of this year. More than 15,000 people participated in this event, including 3,000 in marathon events, 4,000 in half marathon events, and 8,000 in health running events.

This year’s marathon track is further optimized by integrating Grand Canal scenery into the race. The starting point is located at the Huai’an Municipal Service Center. The finishing line of the marathon and half marathon is at the Huai’an Sports Center, and the finishing line of the health run is at the Huai’an Grand Theater. As such, the track passes through 49 landmarks, including historical and cultural attractions such as Bochishan Park, Forest Park, Hexia Ancient Town, Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, etc.
