Huai'an City held a series of activities to celebrate the 38th Teacher's Day on Sep. 8. Chen Zhichang, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and Shi Zhijun, Mayor and Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, visited the schools in Huai'an, expressed their congratulations to the teacher representatives, and attended the Symposium of Outstanding Teacher Representatives. All teachers in Huai'an, Chen stressed, should earnestly study and comprehend the spirit in the important reply of General Secretary Xi Jinping to the students in the "Excellent Teacher Program" of Beijing Normal University. The government shall regard education as an overall, fundamental, and leading cause. Adhering to the "Four Haves" of a good teacher (A good teacher should have ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge, and a warm heart), the teachers in Huai'an should constantly improve their learning and personality to carry forward excellent tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education.
