Huai'an Science and Technology Bureau and Huai'an Public Security Bureau signed an agreement on the joint handling mechanism for foreigners' work and residence applications on April 29 at the conference center of Huai'an Public Security Bureau.

The two bureaus studied the procedures for foreigners' work and residence applications adopted in other cities and put forward their own joint handling mechanism by combining the two procedures into one. This will allow the applicants to apply for the work and residence permits through one window, thus reducing the application handling time to a great extent. This mechanism will provide more convenience for the scientific and technological talents of other countries applying to work in China and improve the business environment in Huai'an.
