time:2022-05-05

In the first quarter of 2022, Huai'an achieved 9.94 billion yuan of foreign trade import and export, an increase of 14.9% over the same period last year. Specifically, there was 7.8 billion yuan in exports, up 26.8%.

By country, in this period of time, the city's trade with EU, ASEAN and US, the top three trading partners, grew by 11.4%, 9.6%, 38.8% year-on-year. Among them, trade with the United States hit a new high for the same period since 2018, and there was an obvious trend of returned orders. Huai'an's trade with other RCEP member countries, and countries along "the Belt and Road" raised 5% and 16% separately.

From the perspective of products and due to the epidemic, there was an imbalance between supply and demand of global electronics, clothing, chemical and other industrial products. Huai'an foreign trade enterprises actively undertook the tasks of order transfers and production back-flow, so their market roles became more consolidated. In the first quarter, the exports of local electronic products, labor-intensive products, chemicals and other traditional advantageous products grew by 31.7%, 22.8% and 62.2% year-on-year, respectively.
