Huai'an Red Cross Society Extends Humanitarian Aid
time:2021-08-13

Recently, the Huai'an Red Cross Society has revised its policy and expanded its humanitarian aid. The newly revised policy breaks through the previous limitation of providing help only for major diseases, and includes those who have difficulties in basic living conditions due to natural disasters, accidents and other reasons. At the same time, the relief standard becomes more flexible. The relief is given to patients with major diseases in accordance with less than 10% of the out-of-pocket expenses, with the standard generally ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 yuan. Other types of aid, such as transplant patients, are provided on a case-by-case basis.

Since this year, Huai'an Red Cross Society has been carrying out "Red Cross Love to Ten Thousand Families" activities in the city, covering a total of 10,146 families and 25,697 people in difficulty, together with 3.525 million yuan in condolences; 450 patients with major diseases received 1.0545 million yuan in aid; 12 leukemia patients were helped to apply for 400,000 yuan of relief fund from the Red Cross Society of China.
