In accordance with the national and provincial deployment, Huai'an fully started the COVID-19 vaccination of 12-17 years olds on July 28th, so as to ensure all minors eligible for vaccination have access to it. A total of 66,071 children and teens had been vaccinated by 17:18 on the 28th.

According to the detailed arrangement, the city will implement the vaccination in phases, with the first dose completed by the end of August and the full vaccination in September. The target group includes school students as well as those who are not of school. At present, the inactivated vaccines approved for the population aged 12-17 are produced by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd. under China National Pharmaceutical Group and the Sinovac Research & Development Co., Ltd.
