2021 Huai'an (Shanghai) Opening-up-to-Japan Forum was held on April 28 at Shanghai Garden Hotel. This forum had representatives from the industries and government of both sides. The Japanese representatives came from the Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai, Japan External Trade Organization, Japanese Commerce and Industry Club, more than 20 Japanese-funded enterprises such as Yakult, Omron, Itochu, Wamin group, Jones Lang LaSalle, and Asahi Beer. The representatives of Huai'an came from the Hongze District, Lianshui County, and the enterprises of Huai'an, such as King's Luck and Jiangsu Suyan Jingshen.

With the theme of opening up to and cooperation with Japan, this forum focusing on the green food industry was aimed to promote Huai'an's economic and trade exchanges with Japan to a deeper and higher level by strengthening the exchanges with Japanese consulates, business associations, and enterprises. The representatives from both sides had a warm and in-depth exchange on many aspects such as the industrial chain, technological transformation, and industrial upgrading.
