Huai'an Promotes the Inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage
time:2021-04-21

In recent years, Huai'an Culture Center has been actively innovating the ways to protect and inherit the intangible cultural heritage of Huai'an by deepening public cultural services, extending its scope, and exploring public cultural service activities centering on "sending culture and planting culture". The center not only sent its own culture to other institutes but brought different intangible cultures back. It collected intangible cultural heritage resources together with intangible cultural heritage units and individuals in Huai'an. So far, it has sorted out 50 types of intangible cultural heritage projects and established a 1000-square-meter intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall. To revitalize the intangible cultural heritage resources, it introduced at major traditional festivals intangible cultural heritage projects such as paper-cut, egg carving, sugar figurines, torn paper painting, straw weaving, etc., to more than ten primary schools. It also organized pupils and high school students to visit the intangible cultural heritage exhibition centers and share their experience in intangible cultural heritage learning. These strategies will promote the revitalization of intangible cultural heritage, introduce more local culture to the youngsters, enhance the protection, inheritance, and development of cultural heritage, and the cultural confidence.
