In the first quarter of this year, Huai'an highway department continued the strong momentum of large construction projects, and successfully completed the goals and tasks of its road construction. By the end of March, 7 projects under the provincial plan had been completed with an investment of 324 million yuan, 54.3% of the 597-million-yuan annual plan and a quarter ahead of schedule. As for the 12 city planned projects, investment of 219 million yuan had been achieved, 16.4% of the 1.34-billion-yuan annual plan, successfully making a good start at the first quarter.

This year, Huai'an plans to invest a total of 1.34 billion yuan for the construction of 12 trunk roads. In the near future, the highway department will highlight the supervision of construction quality and the strict control of raw materials and key processes. It will also help build a modern integrated transport system, better for economic and social development as well as people's interest in traveling.
