Currently, Huai’an owns the biggest vegetable wholesale market in north of Jiangsu. There are two large markets in downtown.  One is the Qingjiang vegetable wholesale market in Qingpu District and another is Zhongshan Gate vegetable wholesale market in Chuzhou District

Qingjiang vegetables wholesale market has a business area over 22,000 square meters, and has information, check, cleaning vegetable delivery centre. The market establishes 82 agricultural export market base, located in Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, and other places. Marine products prices significantly decrease resulting form direct sales by dozens of customers in the bases for a variety of freshwater fish, shrimps and crabs.

Zhongshan Gate vegetable wholesale market is divided into five areas. One area is for wholesale; one area for retail; one for parking: one for no-pollution foods sale; one for the office area. The market is equipped with testing room, goods flow vehicles, electronic screens pounds with more than 400 farmers. It has become an integrity market including vegetables, dry goods, sea creations etc, and has radiated to many provinces and cities such as Anhui, Shanghai, Xuzhou and Yancheng.
