Huai'an First People's Hospital, also known as The Affiliated Huai'an No. 1 People's Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, has developed over the past 70 years into a leading Grade A tertiary general hospital in the city. It integrates medical treatment, education, research, and disease prevention, offering strong technical capabilities. It serves residents in not only Huai'an but also surrounding regions, including Lianyungang, Yancheng, Yangzhou, and Suqian, which makes it an important regional medical center in the northern part of the Yangtze River Delta. The hospital covers an area of 132,600 square meters, with a total construction area of 218,800 square meters. It has an authorized bed capacity of 2,320 and currently operates 3,062 beds (in the main campus). In 2024, the hospital recorded 2.1065 million outpatient and emergency visits (excluding health check-ups), 158,300 discharges, and 76,400 surgical operations.
