Pingqiao Bean Curd may seem plain and unadorned, but it is extremely delicious. Its history can be traced back to the Qianlong period. It is said that during Emperor Qianlong's southern tour, Lin Baiwan, the wealthy man of Pingqiao Town, asked a chef to make bean curd soup with crucian carp brain and chicken soup. After tasting it, Qianlong praised it constantly and called it the "No. 1 dish in the world". Pingqiao Bean Curd became famous from then on.
