The statistics bureau of Huai'an City Monday released the latest data on investment from enterprises of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and foreign countries in 2017.
In 2017, a total of 1,290 enterprises from these regions and foreign countries were registered in the city, 533 more than the level in 2016 and a growth of 70.4 percent.
The overseas enterprises have shown concentrations in certain places and industries. They focus on the secondary industry, which include 469 plants, or 54.7 percent from Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan, and 257 plants or 59.5 percent of foreign enterprises.
In terms of the specific sectors, they were mainly scattered in manufacturing as well as the wholesale and retail, data showed. Manufacturing accounted for 45.2 percent of Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan companies, 59.5 percent of foreign enterprises.
