The signing ceremony of Huai’an and Trina Solar’s 50GW monocrystalline silicon wafer project was held on the afternoon of July 20.
Trina Solar is a global leader in the photovoltaic new energy industry, and signed a project agreement with the Huai’an base in September last year, kicking off the in-depth cooperation with Huai’an. On April 19, 2023, when the first phase of the project was put into operation and the second phase of the project started, Trina Solar invested an additional 5 billion yuan to build a new project for the production of a new generation of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells, and construction will start in the near future. After only three months, a new 50GW monocrystalline silicon wafer project was signed, which will serve as the upstream support for the early cell production project of the Huai’an base. This will further expand the upstream and downstream industrial chain, broaden the business layout, and form an industrial agglomeration. Once the monocrystalline silicon wafer project is fully completed and put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of about 30 billion yuan and an annual tax payment of about 300 million yuan.
