Jiangsu Huai'an Economic Development Zone is located at the southeast of Huai'an. It is close to the downtown area and to the Chuzhou District which is the native land of the Premier Zhou Enlai. Huai'an Economic Development Zone was approved in the Yr.1993 as provincial development zone, and then in the Yr.2000 was approved as a high-tech zone with a total area of 100 square kilometers. Its resident population is more than 100 thousand people. At present, 23 square kilometers have been built, and the rest 77 square kilometers has also been started constructing. There are common industrial zone, high-tech zone, returnees zone, chemical industry zone, and higher education zone.

It has convenient traffic, beautiful environment and complete installations. Tong-San high-speed, Ning-Lian high-speed, Jing-Hu high-speed interchange here, as well as the new Huai’an South Railway Station located in the zone center. With more than 40% greening area and over 30% coverage of the road, a kind of garden-style city has formed initially. Huai’an Economic Development Zone attracts businessmen from the United States, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, totally 15 countries and regions, with its excellent investing environment. A lot of robust domestic listed companies such as the Meidi Group of Guangdong, the Sichuan New Hope Group, the Tongwei Group, the Guancheng Datong of Fuzhou, the Hongdou Group, as well as the Hantai tire, the Kangshifu held by Dingxin International, the Belgium Ante automobile, and the multinational companies have invested in the Development Zone. The Fushikang project which belonged to the Taiwan Honghai Group, the world's top 500 enterprises, settled here in September of Yr.2006. It totally invests 1.5 billion dollars to build the Fushikang Huai'an Industrial Zone, which marks that the time for Huai'an to carry out large projects has arrived.

During the “11th Five-Year-Plan” period, Huai'an Economic Development Zone makes all efforts to develop export-oriented economy, accelerate the development of service industry, and support advantages industries. It will become a modern industrial zone and a new city with strong economics, beautiful environment, and well-off life.
