Chuzhou Economic Development Zone, located at the east of the old city, was started in March 2002. It is planed to be an area of 50 square km and nearly 12 square kilometers with seven functional areas have been developed. Chuzhou Economic Development Zone is located at the communications hub of the Northern Jiangsu. Traffic is very convenient since four highways such as the Jing-Hu highway connect in the district, a railway station of the Xinchang Railway is set here and the Grand Canal and the Huai River flow across. It devotes 450 million yuan for the basic installations. It has totally invited 185 projects and accomplished 4.142 billion yuan of fixed investments. 17 projects such as the straw power plant, the Yibenma auto parts, the Meilun elevator-round, and the Fangzhou chemical industry etc. are invested above 100 million yuan. It encourage following investments: electronics, machinery, agricultural and sideline products processing, large-scaled textiles and clothing, and chemical industry, etc.
     Chuzhou chemical centralized zone is located at the Jiqiao Town of Chuzhou District. It is planed to be 9 square kilometers, and has developed the area of 2200 mu. The supporting basic installations are complete. It has 37 enterprises with investments of 2.6 billion yuan. It encourages investments of meticulous chemical projects.

     Suzui centralized industrial zone is planed to be 2000 mu, and has developed the first phrase of 400 mu. It takes wood processing and clothes processing as feature.

     Jingkou centralized industrial zone is planed to be 5000mu, and has developed the first phrase of 1000 mu. It has 13 projects and takes mechanical processing, electronic processing, and non-ferrous metals processing extension as feature.

     Songji centralized industrial zone is planed to be 600mu, and has developed the area of 260mu. It has 33 enterprises and takes packing of paper products and wood processing as feature.

Chuzhou Salt-chemical zone is planed to be 17.5 square kilometers and 4 square kilometers have been started. Basic installations such as the sewage treatment plants, docks, and 300,000 kilowatt generating unit etc. will be completed soon. It focuses on developing the deep processing of salt-chemical products.
     Zhuqiao centralized industrial zone is planed to be 1500mu, and has developed the area of 500 mu with 14 enterprises in it. It focuses on developing the electronics, machinery processing and clothes.
