The press conference for the 3rd China (Huai'an) Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention was held on May 11. Wu Xiaodan, a member of the Standing Committee of Huai'an Municipal Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department of Huai'an Municipal Party Committee, delivered the keynote speech.

This convention will be held from May 14 to 15, with the theme "Gathering the Power of Chinese Entrepreneurs to Promote Innovative Development". With the main events focusing on project cooperation and industry investment, the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the Municipal Returned Overseas Chinese Federation will respectively organize three sub-activities: (1) the "Digitalization Enabling Manufacturing Transformation" Development Forum for Intelligent Manufacturing Industry, (2) the Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit on "Strengthening the Food Industry and Promoting Rural Revitalization" and (3) the "Entrepreneurship in China & Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Gathering in Huai'an" Overseas Chinese Investment in Jiangsu (Huai'an). In concert with the 3rd Jiangsu Development Conference, this convention will further gather united front resources to assist local economic and social development and build an industrial cooperation platform for overseas Chinese at home and abroad as well as overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs in the Yangtze River Delta to participate in and support the high-quality, coordinated development of the regional economy.

Compared with the previous two, this year's convention has three characteristics. First, the guests are of higher standards. More than one hundred famous enterprise groups will gather in Huai'an to participate in the grand event, including Hong Kong Golden Wheel Group, Hong Kong Multistack Group, Want Want Group, Alibaba Group, 360 Group, Chervon Group, Skyworth Group, China Electronics Data Industry Group, and China Oversea Capital Group. There are broader platforms for regional cooperation. We will cooperate with business groups worldwide, including North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. We will also conduct in-depth negotiations with chambers of commerce from advanced sectors such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so as to build a more integrated and smooth circulation channel for elements and a more convenient and superior business environment among regions. During the convention, special events will be held, including the Development Forum for Intelligent Manufacturing Industry and the Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit, to promote the inter-regional and intra-regional integration and upgrading of industrial resources. More practical development-oriented measures are taken. In the early stage, the convention organized the activities of "Huai'an Tour of Top 100 Jiangsu Entrepreneurs" sponsored by the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce and the visits to Huai'an for inspection by the Innovative Science and Trade Group of the Homecoming Delegation in Hong Kong Jiangsu Association with the theme of "Gathering in Jiangsu and Grasping the· Future on Science" sponsored by the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee. On this basis, a series of activities will be organized during the convention, such as the "Entrepreneurship in China" sponsored by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the "Overseas Chinese Investment in Jiangsu (Huai'an)" sponsored by the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs. The "Online Cloud Exhibition Hall for Investment Promotion" will be innovatively established, which comprehensively display several elements, including urban construction, industrial development, investment hot spots, business environment, county economy, and human geography in Huai'an through AR and VR technologies. The activities allow more domestic and overseas merchants to immerse themselves in the fertile land of investment and business operations in Huai'an.

At the press conference, the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau and the Municipal Bureau of Commerce introduced how the Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention boosted the modern industrial system construction and industrial cooperation in Huai'an. Since 2020 when Huai'an actively played the leading role as the first city to initiate and promote the national strategy of the Huaihe River Eco-economic Belt and led the formation of the "Huaihe River Overseas Chinese Alliance", we have innovatively held two sessions of Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, inviting over one thousand well-known overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs at home and abroad to facilitate the centralized signing of more than 100 projects with an investment of nearly 120 billion yuan. This year's convention will highlight project signing, striving to achieve continuous improvement in total quantity, volume, and quality.
