On the morning of May 20, Huai'an Municipal Government held a press conference on 2022 China (Huai'an) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, introducing to the public its theme, organizational structure, main schedule and highlights. The purpose of the competition is to further strengthen the city's vitality with talents and innovations, build a platform for its innovation and entrepreneurship services, and achieve a high promotion level of both "talents and investment". It is hoped that more elites, high-tech projects, and senior teams will gather in Huai'an, so as to advance the upgrading of leading industries throughout the city.

This year's event is divided into "Elite Team", "Innovation & Entrepreneurship Trial" and "Technical Challenge", respectively. Its schedule covers event release in May, registration in June, completion and selection in July-August, and finale in September. On "Huai'an Talent Day", i.e. September 20, China (Huai'an) Science and Technology Innovation Summit 2022 and the award ceremony for the competition will be held, involving the keynote speech, award presentation, project landing, investment signing, etc.

Compared with the previous one, this year's competition mainly presents three characteristics. First, it provides great policy support. The three types of events have set up corresponding procedures and awards. Specifically, the outstanding talent team settled in Huai'an will be given the highest 3-million-yuan funding support, while there will be no ceiling for the top ones; the city's industrial investment will enjoy the highest 100 million yuan of equity investment support, as well as 1000 square meters of rent-free space, loan subsidies, etc. In addition, a total of 243 million yuan of key industrial support funds have been set up. Second, the competition covers a wide range of areas. It takes into account all aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship. For example, the "Elite Team" focuses on high-level talent teams at home and abroad, especially those overseas students; the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Trial" pays more attention to the public entrepreneurship teams and Huai'an S & T-based SMEs, aiming to set off a "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" boom; as for the "Technical Challenge", it invites domestic and foreign universities and institutes to solve the major technical problems of Huai'an backbone enterprises, by tackling the core technology, conquering the bottlenecks, transforming the S&T achievements, and promoting the innovation and upgrading of Huai'an industries. Third, the competition offers professional services. It deeply explores the innovative and entrepreneurial resources that meet the needs of Huai'an industry, by using the market-oriented service agents to introduce talents, the open competition mechanism to select the best candidates, as well as the quota of targeted organizations. It is hoped that more high-end talents, projects and teams will gather in Huai'an, promoting the city's upgrade of special industries. For the projects that win the award and land in Huai'an, in addition to the comprehensive services provided by the competition agency itself, there are also various platforms to help its further incubation and development, namely the technology property rights market, the intellectual property rights center, large scientific research instrument sharing platforms, 15 "Jiangsu S&T Loan" and "Huai'an S&T Loan" cooperation banks, etc. Huai'an will continuously take projects and environment as the top priorities, and fully implement the concept of "introducing talents, wisdom, investment and development" via competitions. It will also keep planting fertile ground for innovation, and navigating everyone with first-class services, platforms and causes.
