Hongze Lake Fishing Drum Dance is one of the state-level intangible cultural heritages. It was a kind of folk dance around Hongze Lake, performed for some sacrificial rites at the early time. Later, dance artists did a lot of study and made adaptation of Hongze Lake Fishing Drum Dance. Many dance movements derived from actions of fishing, such as weaving fishing nets, tying hooks and pulling nets, portraying the image of working fishermen. The photo above shows Fishing Drum dancers performing on Hongze Lake.
